A few weeks ago, Ms. Parker, a lady living in Boscombe, called Help & Care to arrange a collection. She had several bags of donations for our charity shop in Southbourne, but she didn’t have a car to drive to the shop.
As part of our collection service, Becky, Business Enterprise Support Officer, went to Ms. Parker’s house to pick up her unwanted items. Before leaving, Becky asked her why she had chosen Help & Care.
Ms. Parker said:
My husband and I moved to Boscombe a few years ago, to be near family, as he was ill and quite frail. I needed help to look after him.
I found it difficult to get advice locally. Recently, I discovered that Help & Care offered a variety of services to people nearby. I wish I had known about this much earlier. This is why Help & Care is now my chosen charity.
Our services support adults of all ages, particularly those who live with a long-term health condition, unpaid carers and people who are isolated and housebound. Every item you buy or donate to our local charity shop helps us continue to make a difference to people’s lives and the local community.
