2011 HELP AND CARE LONDON MARATHON runners are gearing up for the 26 mile run on Sunday 17 April.
The runners gathered together on Monday 11 April at Bournemouth Athletic Track to swap some last minute long distance running tips.
The five runners who all work for local organisations have been working hard training and raising money for Help and Care over the last year.
Marathon runner, Alison Rutter said: "Not being a natural runner, the training doesn't come easily but it gives me a great sense of achievement as each long run is completed and I work towards the big day. I continue to support Help and Care as helping people to remain independent in their own homes and to continue to lead a fulfilling life, especially later in life, is vitally important. I know how difficult this can be, especially for people without family close by to help and it's good that Help and Care works in the local community."
Marianne Lambourne, Director of Development at Help and Care said:
“Our runners have done a fantastic job raising money during such a difficult financial climate. They will be wearing their yellow Help and Care tops so please cheer them on if you spot them on Sunday!”
