Carers Week 13 - 19 June 2011
Carers in Christchurch are being invited to attend a free lunch and afternoon of entertainment to mark Carers Week 2011.
Dorset County Council is working in partnership with local charity Help and Care to organise the event for people who provide support and care to a partner, child, relative, friend or neighbour who could not manage without their help. Every year thousands of carers in Dorset provide help to ill, frail and disabled people but many are not aware of the advice and support available to them.
The event will be held on Wednesday 15 June from 1pm-3.30pm at Priory Hall, Princess Avenue, Christchurch. The afternoon includes a buffet lunch and entertainment from a local singer. A Carers Advocate from Dorset charity for older people and Carers, Help and Care, will be on hand to answer questions and provide free information and advice to help Carers in their role.
