Help and Care is one of the Mayor of Poole’s chosen Charities this year. Staff and volunteers welcomed The Worshipful the Mayor of Poole Councillor Chris Bulteel and Mayoress Mrs Angela Bulteel to their office in Pokesdown on Wednesday 23 February, 2011.
The Mayor was given a tour of the building and introduced to the teams at Help and Care. During his visit he spent time with the Telephone Befriending Team and made a friendly phone call to an isolated older person.
Mayor of Poole Cllr Chris Bulteel said: “I was delighted to meet the staff and volunteers at Help and Care and it was great to have a first hand experience on the Telephone Befriending service. The help and support offered by the charity is literally a lifeline to thousands of local people.”
