Review of Malnutrition Awareness

Do you have an interest in making sure people are fed well whilst in hospital or in care?

Do you want to be assured that the right help is given to vulnerable or frail people to eat their meals with dignity?

Do you want to know more about how good nutrition can help you or your loved ones when you or they become older or unwell?

Do you have some spare time to help us find out how well our local NHS and social care services are supporting people to eat well?

Please come along to an open meeting Dorset Local Involvement Network (LINk) is holding on Tuesday 11th January at Dorset Advocacy offices Poundbury at 11.00am to find out more about the work we would like to do on nutrition in our local hospitals and care homes and how you can get involved to help us.

Date: 11th January 2011

Time: 11am

Venue: Dorset Advocacy, 13 - 15 Jubille Court, Paceycombe Way, Poundbury, Dorchester, DT1 3AE

Dorset LINk would like to work with other groups and organisations that have an interest in this subject as well as individuals. They are also looking for volunteers who may like to become part of a team that goes into hospitals and care homes to see how people are supported to eat or to see how staff are trained to help. You may like to help Dorset LINk talk to people about the experiences they have had, good and bad, or you may want to canvas your own networks for opinions. There are a number of ways you can help and it’s entirely up to you how much you get involved so please do come along and find out more about this piece of work and about the other work of the Dorset LINk. Refreshments will be provided.

If you are interested but can’t make the event please do get in touch anyway and one of the LINk Development Officers will call or come and see you.

Please let us know if you are coming on the 11th Jan and we can send you directions if required. Just call on 07717 702131 or email anne.dimmick@helpandcare.org.uk (Help & Care is the organisation that supports Dorset LINk).
