A little bit of help that works for you

Community Works is a new flexible, friendly and affordable support service for older people who need that little bit of help.

Whether it's someone to accompany you to an essential hospital appointment, a visit to a social club or the theatre or someone to join in with a hobby or take you on a shopping trip - we're here to help.

At Help and Care we believe older people who need a little bit of help to live independent, happy and fulfilling lives should be able to access extra support. We had so many requests for help that we decided to set up Community Works to make sure that people had somewhere to turn when they needed it.

Who carries out the support provided by Community Works?

Community Works tasks are carried out by Volunteers who have given up their time free of charge to support Help and Care and the work that we do.

Any Community Works tasks which require a driver escort incur a charge of 45p per mile to cover the volunteers’ expenses.
