2019
In 2019 we were awarded the Non-Clinical Health Coaching and Social Prescribing NHS contract by Dorset CCG in partnership with Dorset Mental Health Forum (DMHF) and Dorset Healthcare. From this contract, we created The Dorset Self-Managment Service which went live in April 2019.
We were also awarded contracts with Healthwatch Portsmouth which brings our total Healthwatch contracts up to 8, making us one of the largest Healthwatch providers in the UK.

In 2018 we were awarded contracts with Healthwatch Croydon and Healthwatch Wiltshire
2017
In August 2017, following 13 years of dedication to the work and governance of Help & Care, Paul Hickman retired from Chair of the Board of Trustees role. Following a formal selection process, Adrian Dawson has been appointed new Chairman of Trustees and started in his new role on the 31st of August 2017.
Healthwatch (HW) Isle of Wight, West Sussex, and Dorset have been successful at the 'Healthwatch Network Awards 2017' for their outstanding contribution to health and social care in their local areas.
2016
In 2016, Help & Care won the Social Enterprise Mark CIC ‘Making a Mark competition’, selected from a network of over 200 accredited social enterprises.
The organisation has also been re-awarded the Dorset POPP contract, which now has been extended to include early help for adults all of all ages (not just older people) from all communities within Dorset County Council borough.
2015
2015 was a very memorable year for Help & Care because it marked three decades since the charity started. We held three events to celebrate our 30th Anniversary: an evening event with our partners, a staff conference, and a gala to honour our volunteers.
2014
Help & Care opened its first Charity Shop in partnership with Oakhaven Hospice Trust in the vibrant area of Southbourne (Bournemouth).
2013
Help & Care commissioned and introduced a new Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, to overhaul interactions with customers and report on our activities.
We also secured Healthwatch contracts in 7 Local Authority Areas across Southern England, partnered with 12 other organisations, and established 7 new Independent Community Interest Companies (CIC’s) Social Enterprises.
Poole Well-being Collaborative established with 6 other organisations.
‘My Health My Way’ self-care and self-management service was commissioned by Dorset CCG. Partnership of 5 organisations led by Help & Care.
2012
Help & Care was awarded the contract for both the 33 Partnership for Older People Partnership, POPP Champions and 66 Wayfinders.
2011
New Wave Integrated Care established in partnership with Bournemouth GPs, Dorset Healthcare, and BCHA. We were also awarded the contract by NHS Dorset for running the Boscombe & Springbourne Walk-In Health Centre.
2010
Dorchester Hospital Discharge Screening service was established. Our Advocacy and Support Workers working part of an integrated discharge team based at the hospital. Supporting people in making informed decisions and choices about important housing, health, support and care issues.
