In our early sessions, Sarah shared the emotional toll of her diagnosis and treatment. We explored what she had learned from the experience, what continued to upset her, and what she wanted to do to begin healing. One significant step was her decision to submit a formal complaint to PALS about aspects of her care that had deeply affected her. With coaching support, this process helped her release some of the lingering frustration and feel more empowered.
We also introduced journaling as a tool for reflection and emotional regulation. Sarah used this to track her progress, identify positive moments even on harder days, and stay grounded in the present.
Over time, Sarah began to let go of the pain associated with her illness and started to rediscover who she was and what she wanted from life. Her confidence grew steadily—she began going out on her own more often, re-evaluated her friendships, and made intentional choices about how to spend her time. With renewed clarity, she started preparing to return to her studies, focusing on rebuilding strength and purpose.
In her words, Sarah shared:
“Thank you – I’ve enjoyed our chats and found it helpful to talk through situations with you and look at ways to manage my emotions better. It has been a great help. Thanks.”
