  • What is your name, how long have you been working for Help & Care, and what is your role?
My name is Rosie Verrico. I have worked for Help & Care for just over two years as the Director of Organisational Development.
  • Why did you decide to join Help & Care?
I’ve worked in social care in Dorset for many years, and throughout that time, I’ve often crossed paths with people from Help & Care. Whether it was collaborating to support a member of the community or attending meetings with senior leaders, I was always struck by the professionalism, dedication and values of the people who work at Help & Care. That made a lasting impression and, ultimately, made the decision to join feel like the right one.
  • What inspires you the most about your work?
Definitely the people! Not just in my immediate team, but across the whole organisation. There is a real sense of shared purpose at Help & Care. Everyone brings something different, but we are all working towards the same goal.
  • What word would your team use to describe you?
I think my team would describe me as “supportive”. I genuinely enjoy helping others, whether it’s by being a sounding board, sharing knowledge of ideas, or just stepping in when someone needs a hand. That collaboration is part of the culture at Help & Care; we’re encouraged to lift each other up and work together to achieve the best for our communities.
  • What’s your favourite memory from working here?
My favourite memories come from hearing the stories about the real impact we have on communities. Even though my role is behind the scenes, hearing those stories reminds me that what we do is part of something bigger. It is powerful to see how our work changes lives, and each part of Help & Care contributes to making a difference.
  • How do you like to spend your time outside of work?
Outside of work, I am a proud mum to a beautiful young boy who brings much joy to my life. I love live music, and I make the most of time with family and friends whenever I can.
  • Why should someone want to work at Help & Care?
Help & Care is a place where your work truly matters. Whether directly supporting members of our communities or a back-office role like mine, you’re making a real difference to people’s lives. On top of that, you are surrounded by passionate and supportive colleagues who share a strong sense of purpose.
