What does your typical day look like?
My typical day as a HOPE Programme Facilitator involves everything from networking with professionals for potential new pathways and projects to ordering of the stationery for the courses. I train up and support our many great facilitators, enabling the set-up of new courses right across Dorset. I head up many workshops in person and cover as needed. My days are varied!
Is there an element of your work that you particularly enjoy?
The part of being a HOPE Programme Facilitator that I enjoy the most is supporting groups of people to come together and talk. Facilitating conversations so that people feel heard and consider how they can move forward or approach differently the many difficulties they may be facing. Watching others make changes to their own life and improve their happiness and being part of that journey is so rewarding.
How does your work help us support people to “live the lives they choose”?
My role as HOPE Programme Facilitator helps support people to live the lives they choose by giving people the space to reflect and make changes through the workshops. It supports them with skills, knowledge and confidence to make positive changes in their own life. The peer support is incredibly powerful to support a person to heal, grow, learn and thrive.
