Dear Dr. *****
I would like to bring your attention to and champion The Hope Programme, held at The Dorford Centre, that I recently completed having seen a poster for the service at your surgery. I started the six x 2-hour session course on the 1st May having become quite impaired by anxiety and stress in early February.
On the 7th of April I saw Dr. ***** at the surgery who was reluctant to prescribe any more drugs but suggested that I should seek help with counselling. Fortunately, by this time I had contacted The Hope Programme and started the course soon after on the 1st of May.
I found The Hope Programme very beneficial and without doubt made a major contribution to what I consider is my recovery. It was predominantly due to the Presenter & Counsellor Maria White along with her colleague Michelle, but strangely enough also the other attendees of the course. I can only sing its praises and would recommend it to you as an aid for any patient suffering from extreme anxiety or stress.
I completed The Hope Programme on 12th June but asked to continue with a programme of six one-to-one sessions with Maria White at The Atrium. I had the first of those sessions but at the end of the hour decided that my recovery progress was so good that I no longer required continuing, something that Maria concurred with.
At the end of the course those of us who attended had shared many of our concerns to the extent that we have kept in contact and have met up socially with the intention of keeping these occasional meetings going for the benefit of all of us.
I had a phone appointment with you on Friday 11th July with regard to a change in my medication. If time allows, I will certainly reinforce to you how The Hope Programme assisted me.
