Dorchester Carers Support Group

memory problems, Alzheimers, depression, anxiety and related problems to meet over a cup of tea. A chance to gain information and talk to others who understand. Shaftesbury & District Carers Group

The Shaftesbury & District Carers Group operate on a drop-in basis as well as holding a monthly meeting for Carers who are mainly supporting families dealing with mental illness: working to bridge the gap where people have been excluded, to being included in normal day to day activities, and where appropriate on to employment. A centre for people of any age over 18, suffering mental disorders including Learning Disabilities.

At the HOPE Drop In Centre, 1 Bimport, Toby’s Court, Shaftesbury, there are meeting rooms (situated behind Toby's Young People's Project). Carers can pop in for a tea or coffee so that they can chat with others sharing similar problems. There are opportunities for carers to sign up for courses in: IT, jewellery making, flower arranging, and gardening.
