Ann joined Help & Care’s Roots Service while she was recovering from severe depression. After two years of volunteering for Help & Care, Ann was offered a permanent job at the social enterprise.
“I feel like getting a paid job is a real accomplishment and I know I have made a step in the right direction. I am learning new skills and I really enjoy working with the volunteers.”
Ann has found that working with volunteers is really rewarding. She really understands what it’s like to recover from mental illness and she feels capable of helping them to get used to being back in the community. Ann is also really fond of the older clients who couldn’t take care of their gardens
