We're moving onto our next chapter and out of the Pokesdown Centre!
What a year! I think we can all agree that the last year has been a year of significant change for everyone on many levels. Individually and as a community we have been presented with challenges; In some way, shape or form everyone has been required to change their routines and adapt to a new ‘normal’ way of life.
At Help & Care, we have been very mindful about how these changes impacted our clients, the communities in which we live and our staff. It has been a period of reflection for us; we recognise that the demand for services which help our communities is higher now more than ever before.
We’re honoured to have been able to work from this iconic building for the past 27 years, and this time will very much be a part of our history at Help & Care, but it’s time to move forward. We need space to grow.
Our CEO, Mark Sharman shares his thoughts:
The Pokesdown Centre has been a home that has overseen the organisations growth and development. At many times in the last 27 years it has been the asset and base that has seen the organisation weather turbulent times. Help & Care hope that they have been good custodians of this magnificent building and that it will continue to be a landmark for many years to come. Help & Care goes from strength to strength and the sale of the Pokesdown Centre, whilst emotional, is just another stage in the journey so we can focus on doing more for people and communities and continue to be an integral part of wherever local is.
