Annual Leave - All Full Time staff have 25 days (5 weeks) paid leave per year plus Bank Holidays. Managers have 28 days leave per year plus Bank Holidays. The Leadership Team is entitled to 30 days leave per year and the Chief Executive 32 days per year. Part Time employees are entitled to the same annual leave entitlement as Full Time staff on a pro rata rate for the number of hours contractually worked each week.
Birthday Leave - All Staff receive thier birthday off work as paid leave (1 day).
Buy Annual Leave - Staff may buy up to one week additional leave in addition to their leave entitlement. This leave is unpaid and reimbursed via monthly salary deduction over a period of months to spread the cost and give staff more flexibility.
Buy Your Own Kit - where staff can purchase IT equipment (e.g. laptop, tablet) with an interest free loan and payback via monthly salary deduction agreement over a period of 6 months to 12 months. The IT Kit purchased can be used for both personal and work use, as long as the Information Governance policy is followed in terms of security and data protection.
Carers Leave - Two days paid leave is currently available to all staff with emergencies for their caring responsibilities.
Cycle to Work - Tax free bikes for work. Scheme for staff to purchase bike and safety equipment worth up to £1,000 if they use thier bike for work. Salary sacrifice for the agreement over 12 months which saves on income tax and national insurance.
Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)
The Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) is an independent confidential free service available to all our staff and for their family/dependents that live at the same home address. The EAP is an employee wellbeing service that offers both advice and support on a whole range of day-to-work work and personal issues. Staff are also able to access a maximum of five sessions of professional counselling per year to help them address and deal with any personal issues. the service remains totally confidential and the organisation is billed without staff being identified.
Eye Care - If you use display screen equipment (DES) regularly for your job role, we will reimburse the cost of an eyesight test. The purpose of the eye test is to determine whether or not you require spectacles for use with DSE equipment. In addition, if the optician confirms you require glasses exclusivley for DSE use we will pay up to £50 towards the cost of new glasses. Please obtain an Eye Care from from Human Resources to take to your appointment with the optician.
Flexible Working - A range of flexible working options are available and there is a policy and procedure that enable staff to propose working arrangements which we will make every effort to accommodate when considered in conjunction with business need. Options available include part-time working, part home working, and different working patterns for school term time and holidays.
Flexi-time - Most staff work flexitime which enables them to build up additional leave and provides flexibility in working hours, again subject to ensuring that services are properly staffed. The Leadership Team is expected to opt out of the 48 hour working time directive.
Pension scheme - Help & Care is registered with National Employment Savings Trust (NEST) pension scheme under pension auto enrolment which is open for all staff following completing 3 months of service. From April 2019 Help & Care make a contribution of 3% and the Employee make a contribution of 5% if you meet the statuory requirement for pension auto enrolment. Employees meet the statutory requirement for being automatically enrolled into the pension scheme if they earn £10,000 or more per annum, are aged 22 or over and are under state pension age. If an employee does not meet the statutory requirement for being automatically enrolled into the pension scheme you may join the pension scheme if you wish after successfully completing 3 months service. The pension contribution rate is in line with statutes in force at the time.
Access to Unpaid leave - Staff may request short unpaid breaks in addition to their annual leave entitlement, which are dealt with on a case by case basis.
Training - Staff are encouraged to identify any training needs, for both personal and organisational development. Help & Care will support staff wherever possible when they wish to undertake training.
